Research and Writing @ ISU

Research Progression at ISU

Teachers of MYP and DP at ISU should be familiar with the teaching and learning outlined in the Research Progression at ISU continuum. The contents of this continuum are built on the IB documentation related to research in the MYP and DP with particular reference to selected skills adapted from the MYP Principles into Practice Guide (2015). In addition, it builds on the work of Hofer, Hanick and Townsend in Transforming Information Literacy Instruction: Threshold Concepts in Theory and Practice.

Research and Writing Guidelines

Students of all ages can be quickly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information that is available on almost any topic. Our role as educators requires that we carefully and consciously guide students’ information-seeking in order to model information literacy skills and their application in age- and task-appropriate ways. To this end, Secondary Teachers at ISU developed these Research and Writing Guidelines for all subject teachers to use when developing summative assessments that involve research.

Grade Level Academic Integrity Checklists
